Nature-inspired leather necklace with unique one-of-a-kind pendant

Handmade leather pendant with imprint of wild grasses, attached to a leather cord with spring ring closure. These delicate natural grasses can only be pressed into the moist leather once, so each piece is absolutely unique. The leather pendant is hand tooled and comes with a "distressed" color finish, a process during which the natural leather is dyed, sanded, painted and waxed several times, to give it that vintage bohemian touch.

This beautiful boho style necklace is approx. 45 centimeters (18 inches) in length. The pendant is 2 x 11.5 centimeters (0.8 x 4.5 inches) and adorned with a glazed porcelain bead, matching the overall color of the necklace.

What does »Zero Waste" leather mean?

Basically, it's scrap leather, genuine leather – leftovers from the production of fine leather goods such as purses, shoes or even furniture, that would otherwise end up in the trash. These offcuts are still premium quality leather, new and unused, so I decided to source some of my materials from these manufacturers, buying leather that used to be destined for landfills. This way I can reduce the amount of waste in the fashion industry, within my means anyway, and at the same time provide you with lovingly made eco-friendly gifts that will let you show your loved ones that you care about them – and the environement, too.
